Meditation for your skin


Hiya lovelies! I have always talked about beautifying your skin and keeping it healthy, be it through healthy eating habits or through their direct application on the skin. But, what if I told you that one of the main reasons you skin is so affected is not the environmental pollutants? Yes, surprising. Isn’t it? One of the main reasons behind so many skin conditions and health conditions people face today is their rushed lifestyle and stress. Due to their busy schedules, no one is able to take some time out in their day and just relax for a little bit. Why talk about others? Just take a look at yourself. We have a schedule fixed for us from 6 in the morning to 12 in the night. Or at least is, for most of the urban residents.


Apart from a rushed lifestyle, comes the tension and stress with it. But a year ago, I found out about meditation and its never ending benefits from my mother. It does not only reduce stress, but it just simply relaxes you. For a few minutes, you feel as if you do not belong in this world. You feel so light and relaxed afterwards that you just wish to stay in that state for the rest of your life. All you have to do is sit quietly for a little while, concentrate on your breathing and there you go! All your stress has now flown away.

Meditation helps in fighting skin and health conditions because of the increased oxygen intake. As you meditate, you concentrate on your breathing entirely. Your heart rate slows down to normal, and you are inhaling and exhaling deeply with a slower pace. The more deeper your breathing, the more is the oxygen intake in your body. This increased oxygen intake boosts the working of your cells. Your blood gets more purified and much clearer. And you know that if your blood is clearer, it will reflect on your skin as well. Your skin will become more bright, glowing and problem free. It also calms your mental state. Many of the problems that people commonly face today like anxiety, stress, panic attacks etc. All of these problems can be cured with meditation. Just breathing deeply can bring magic to your body.

One of the best things about meditation is you don’t have to have some items available with you. You can start wherever you are. All you have to do is sit quietly, start focusing on your breathing as it is in the moment and keep that in the centre of your attention. Carefully observe the pattern of your breathing. If the thoughts start coming to you, acknowledge them and then let go of them. Keep your attention focused on your breathing at all times.

With meditation, your stress hormones will release and bring your body to a better and relaxed stage. As you let more oxygen in, your body organs will cleanse themselves and toxins will be released. Thereby, giving you the skin of your dreams.
