Do you care for your hands?
Kind of strange, me asking you if you take care of your hands, is it not? I don’t mean to startle you but how often do you take care of your hands? Most of us either don’t have any time in our hands to take care of ourselves and even if we do then we are mainly focused on our face and hair. We tend to neglect our hands. But do you understand how important it is for you to take care of your hands properly and regularly?
It is so because hands are one of the most important parts of our body. They do most of the work and stay exposed regardless of the kinds of environment conditions, work atmosphere or climatic conditions. If you take note of small things then you must have noticed that your hands most prone to get tanned, cut and burned. The most rough, dry and moisture ripped area of our body is our hands. We carry out every kind of work with our hands. We use it for various purposes; from greeting someone with a handshake to cooking and cleaning purposes. Being the centre of all that is needed to get work done, our hands continue to be the most neglected part of our body. So, let’s learn how can be provide care for something that cares so much for you.
Always keep in mind to provide nourishment and moisturization to your hands. Remind yourself to use hand lotion on regular time intervals, especially after washing them. Your hands are exposed to harsh climatic conditions, and harsh sun rays in extreme summer. Keep a sunscreen handy and use it at all times. Before heading to bed, remember to apply moisturizer or a petroleum jelly on your hands. This will help in keeping them moisturized, soft and smooth for the next day. It will also help in repairing of the damaged skin cells of your hand so to give you baby soft hands.
If you are outside for long intervals of time then it is advised to use gloves. Gloves can provide you protection against tanning in summers and in winters, they will keep the moisture from being ripped off. It will also protect your hands from catching the harmful germs and bacterias that might stick to your hands in the exposed environment. During the cleaning of dishes and gardening, remember to put on your gloves to keep your hand from catching germs and then leading to infections.
Remember to exfoliate your hands regularly. Just like exfoliating your face helps in giving you a cleaner and radiant skin with no dead cells. Exfoliation does the same to your hands as well leaving you with soft, smooth and cleaner skin. Keep in mind to moisturize them afterwards.
When taking care of your hands, don’t forget your nails. Moisturize your cuticles and nails on a regular basis to keep them strong and clean. At home or out in the parlor, give your hands the best care they deserve.
